One of the main tourist resources of Georgia is nature - in our country, as in many civilized countries, territorial nature conservation has a long history.
For centuries, people have protected natural areas mainly because of religious beliefs, and there were also royal and feudal hunting grounds and church forests.
Due to the exceptional landscape and nature, a large number of foreign guests visit Georgia. Flora and fauna here store dozens of species of animals and plants, which are included in the "Red List".
Vashlovani protected areas (zakaznik) are located in the extreme eastern region of Georgia, in the Dedoplistskaro region.
They cover the Vashlovani reserve, the national park and three natural monuments: Artsiv gorge, Takhti - Tepsky mud volcanoes and the Kakliskuri forest of the Alazani hollow.
Their territory covers Pantishara - Vashlovan massifs, the height of which ranges from 300 to 600 meters above sea level.
Due to the natural similarity of incense trees to apple trees and their associativity with orchards, these territories were named "Vashlovani" ("vashli" in Georgian means apple). The total area of these territories is 35292 hectares.
The network of tourist routes of the Vashchlovani Protected Areas makes it possible to organize one-day and multi-day tours. The trails are landscaped and marked.
Bungalows are built along the trails, and there are picnic and camping sites. In addition, special places for making a fire have been allocated. The National Park offers its visitors the organization of hiking, cycling, photography, educational and cultural tours.
The order of the excursion is negotiated in advance, since it requires additional procedures for registration in the start-up. But it's worth it!
